Laura Dudas, née Czekaj (born November 1978) is a Canadian politician. She was elected to Ottawa City Council representing Innes Ward in the 2018 Ottawa municipal election.

Dudas grew up in Kitchener, Ontario, the daughter of a Richard, a welder and Linda Czekaj, a Sears employee.

Dudas was a journalist working in Cambridge for the Cambridge Reporter[1] and Stratford, Ontario before working at the Ottawa Sun from 2002 to 2010. Following her journalism career, she worked for the City of Ottawa[2] as a communications official.[3] She also served as the President of the Blackburn Community Association and served on the Orléans Chamber of Commerce. She and her family moved to Blackburn Hamlet in 2006.[4]

Dudas first ran for council in the 2014 Ottawa municipal election, but lost to Jody Mitic. When Mitic retired, Dudas ran again in 2018, and won 41% of the vote, defeating her nearest rival, Donna Leith-Gudbranson by nearly 1700 votes.

Dudas, along with George Darouze and Matthew Luloff was appointed as a deputy mayor of the city in December 2018.[5]
