The counties of Albania (Albanian: Qarqet e Shqipërisë) are the first-level administrative territorial entities of the Republic of Albania.[1] These 12 counties are subdivided into 61 municipalities, the second-level administrative territorial entities, which consist of 373 administrative units.

The government structure is based on the 1998 constitution, while the reform was made effective on 31 July 2000.[2] The twelve counties replaced the former districts (Rrethe).
